March Madness Giveaway!!!

It is March and we at Sky Pie are unleashing the Madness! March Madness!!

It doesn’t have to do with college basketball, even though we love that, too. (Go Kats!)

It is all about our March Madness Giveaway!! We will be giving away Unique apparel from Sky Pie and other cool prizes as well!

We have much to share in the future, but want to get the word out to more people about Sky Pie and what we offer and what we’re about, so we want to boost our presence on social media. It’s completely free to enter!

Here’s how it works: For the month of March, every time our Facebook page and Twitter feeds get the number of followers in the hundreds, we will randomly give one of our followers a prize! For example, as it stands this second, we have 291 followers on Facebook and 43 followers on Twitter. When Facebook reaches over 300 and Twitter over 100 followers, we give out a prize. After that when Facebook reaches 400 and Twitter reaches 200, we give out a prize... and so on... All you have to do is Like our Facebook page or follow us on Twitter. Do both and you are entered twice! Tell all your friends! The more people join, the more we give away!! It’s Madness I tell you!!

BONUS! If we reach 1,000 followers in each we will decide on an extra special gift!! Possibly a one of a kind piece designed by Sky Pie’s founder, Skyler Payne?

MORE CHANCES TO WIN!! We will also do this separately with the Subscribers to this Sky Pie Blog and people on our email list, giving you four total chances to win!!! Subscribe to this blog on this page, and/or CLICK HERE to go to our website and sign up for the email list.

If you are signed up and following us with any of these, you are already eligible. Follow us on them all and tell all your friends to maximize your chances!

Right now, numbers are low so you have a great chance of winning! Sign up quickly before the tidal wave of social media crashes it! The bigger it gets, the more we give away! It’s Madness I tell you!! March Madness!!!

Happy Two Year Birthday, Sky Pie!!!

Sky Pie is celebrating our Two Year Anniversary!!!

We are entering what a lot of people call the “Terrible Twos” but we are changing that to the “Terrific Twos”!

Having your own company is filled with excitement and also tough times. I reread our First Year Anniversary blog and saw that, talking about the ups and downs, I sometimes wonder why I “didn’t use all my money to buy a year’s supply of Twinkies”. I feel prophetic considering Hostess just went out of business. Why didn’t I invest in Twinkies?! I could be rich! I am truly sad that Hostess is bankrupt. What is Santa going to say without his Ho-ho’s?

Two years ago, I launched the website which is our main way of being accessible to the public. We had a lot happen in our first year: parties, fashion shows, and fun. Our second year has been quite mellow. Part of that is because we were dealing with a printing company that was slow and had less than desirable results. Another reason was that, at the current moment, I am limited to how much time I can spend with Sky Pie because it is not my main source of income. Oh, how I long for that day! Order a shirt or tell a friend to follow us on Facebook and help me get closer to that goal! :)

Nevertheless, we were able to come out with a new line in 2012 with brand new designs, new colors for primary designs, and even introducing baby onesies and toddler shirts! All new shirts can be seen on our Facebook page here.

With the launch of Sky Pie Apparel, I was trying to do something fun and something that could make a difference.

As you probably know, part of our proceeds go to charity, specifically to stop human trafficking. I just wrote a check to Nightlight International and we have you to thank for it! Your support not only gets you a designer shirt, it gives someone a step toward freedom.

I want to personally thank everyone of you who helped us in some way. Whether it was helping with the website or photos, buying a shirt, liking us on Facebook, or just saying, “that’s cool” when you heard my ideas. I’m glad we launched right around Thanksgiving. It really helps me to keep things in perspective and be thankful. I couldn’t do this without you guys!

As well as Thanksgiving, Christmas is coming up and you can buy a Sky Pie shirt for a loved one right from the comfort of your own home! Enjoy our Christmas Sale: any shirt in stock is only $20 with $1 shipping no matter how many shirts you buy! Send us a Facebook message or email (info@skypieapparel.com) with your name, address, email, shirt type, and size, and we will send you a paypal invoice which you can pay with paypal or a credit card. (Heads up, they must be bought by December 16th in order to receive them by Christmas!)

We hope that all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, we are thankful for our Two Year Anniversary, and we hope that we will be able to serve you for many more years to come! I’m even more excited about what the future holds!!

New Shirts for Fall!!

We hope that you have been having a wonderful 2012! We have been busy here and it always feels like we never get as much done as we like. Dealing with personal issues and a lot of red tape with the printing company that we are (possibly “were” if they don’t straighten up and fly right) working with has caused an unfortunate delay in our new line of shirts.

We know it was hotter than Satan’s coffee this year and we are sorry you couldn’t brave that weather in a new Sky Pie fashion; however, this week we are unveiling our new shirts as a FACEBOOK EXCLUSIVE! Just in time for the Holidays! Buy one for yourself and one as a gift!

We now even have baby and toddler clothes!!

All the new shirts will be on sale at the reduced rate of only $20 with shipping and handling only $1!!! (Retail price is $26.99 + $3 s/h.)

We will be posting them one by one in the next few days. When you see one you like, send us a message with your name, address, phone #, email, which shirt, and size. We will email you a paypal link and you can use paypal or a credit card. Then we will ship it to you right away!! This is a limited time offer so act now!

Making a Difference is Easier than Scratching a Lotto Ticket

Have you ever stopped and thought, “Do I make a difference in the world?” It sometimes can be very ethereal and far removed because we can often think, “The world is such a big place. How could I possibly change it?”

I was walking down the street and there was an older man sitting at a bus stop. As I went by I noticed that he was scratching off lottery tickets, the big, card type. He had a thick stack of them and after he’d scratch one off, he would chuck it into the street. The street was littered with about 20-30 big lottery cards. I walked on by, not sure what to say. I got about a half block away and thought, “He must really be hurting and missing something deep down.”

I then heard a still, small whisper inside of my brain, “Go talk to him.”

“No!” I reacted. “How awkward!”

However I debated for a little while and finally went back. “Wow, you must be rich!” I kidded.

“Is it a crime to have money?!” he shot back at me. I thought about saying, “No, but littering is,” but I didn’t. I didn’t know what to say. I just said something like I wanted to let you know that God cares about you and loves you.

“God doesn’t exist,” he retorted.

“Yes, God does exist”, I explained. “He told me to come talk to you, and I didn’t want to. I told Him no, but He persisted.” He went on to tell me that he can give me three good reasons why God doesn’t exist… He then named three Latin-American countries. We talked for a little while longer and it was obvious he couldn’t be reasoned with, but I was glad that I had talked to him and at least attempted to brighten his day leaving him with a “have a good day”.

The world is hurting. Maybe instead of “How do I change the world?” the question we should ask ourselves is, “How do I make a difference in someone’s life today?”

At the end of the day, we can ask things like, “Did I make a difference in someone’s life today? Did I show them love? Did I make them laugh? Did I comfort them? Did I rejoice when something good happened to them?”

Even if they reject our love or comfort, did we show compassion to the best of our ability?

Oftentimes it is hard because the world can also be appalling. A car next to me at a stop light was blasting rap music and the chorus of the song was, “You want child support? Pull it out of your a**, b****! You want child support? Pull it out of your a**, b****!” As catchy as choruses are, that was running through my head for the drive home unfortunately.

Now, I like rap music, so I’m not attacking the music, but it is insane the thoughts we as a society have and decide to dwell on. Thoughts of anger and hatred lead to heartache which lead to more anger and hatred which lead to more heartache, and so the cycle goes.

The only way the world can change is if we start small and say, “How do I make a difference in someone’s life today?”

Happy birthday to Sky Pie Apparel!!!

Today marks our One Year Anniversary!!!

They say that most businesses don’t last more than their first year, so I’m happy and proud to say we are still in business! We lasted longer than Kim Kardashian’s marriage! (Sorry. We love you Kim!)

Starting any company is filled with ups and downs, excitement and slow times, happiness and times you wonder why you didn’t use all your money to buy a year’s supply of Twinkies, but I definitely feel like our first year was a success!

With the launch of Sky Pie Apparel, I was trying to do something fun and something that could make a difference.

One year ago today, I launched the website which is our main way of being accessible to the public. Shortly after that we were able to sponsor the Hope in the City fashion show. This year had our First Annual Spring Launch Sky Pie and Tee Party which was a delight. We were able to add new shirts, especially for the Men. Also, we had our first photo shoot which gave us stunning photos for the website.

I’m even more excited about what the future holds! I have a ton of more fun ideas! We have just started pre-ordering a hilarious, new shirt which you get a discount on for pre-ordering. (For more info on that, talk to me or sign up on the website for our email news letter.)

As well as Thanksgiving, I find it kind of ironic that our one year anniversary falls on the new “Cyber Monday” (the equivalent of Black Friday for the internet). Christmas is coming up and you can buy a Sky Pie shirt for a loved one right from the comfort of your own home! We need your support! Not only that, but you can tell them part of the proceeds went to stop human trafficking as well! Go now!

We hope that all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, we are thankful for our One Year Anniversary, and we hope that we will be able to serve you for many more years to come!!
